What is values-based procurement?

Values-based procurement (“VBP”) is an approach to food procurement that enables institutions to advance their values through the purchasing power of their food contracts, while still meeting budgetary and service responsibilities. This toolkit guides institutions through key legal, communication, and management considerations that can be adapted to an institution’s unique context.
